I agree too automatic shutdown of the engine is very bad idea.

I hope mitsubishi will get back on their gdi engines. those engines idle at very low rpm(650-700), making then more economical in city' s. Those engines do use 15% less fuel then other cars of that time(late ninetees). Also the direct injection gives a lot of torgue at low rpm' s making it very nice to drive with. Even today, those cars are still more economical then new cars of same type and size. For example, Toyota prius is only more ecomomical because of its ugly super streamlined design and narrow extra-low-resistence-tyres, the engine/hybrid system itself is worse then the 1.8 gdi engine of mitsubishi.

The downside was, the gdi engines need high quality petrol, which made them inpopular in Netherlands due to crazy tax systems on anything which has something to do with cars.

So, all those fancy systems are just a complete waste of money, its all about the engine.
hybrid-systems, automatic shutdowns, feedback systems, are a complete waste of resources and are very bad to the enviroment due to very dirty production. Often it is said this is countered with reclycling. But a normal car gets also for 95+% recycled too..


But ontopic:-) Some agree automatic shut off in lfs should stay in lfs, some don' t care at all, and some people agree with me.

I noticed this effect irl when understeering with my previous car which had good standard road tyres, My current car also this effect but less severe, but this car is equipped with very high performance road tyres. The downside is slightly less ride-comfort.

So i think the difference is the tyres, from personal experience, high performance tyres are better on the limit and thus steering does not get suddenly a light feeling with slight understeer, but just a small drop off which tells you, you are getting very near to the limit. On standard tyres it is more likely to happen that the steering gets very light when understeering. Its all about the tyres..

Just a note on your calculations: if you use polytropic with n=1.4 you are doing an adiabatic process. This means no heat was added which is not the case. Isochoric (constant volume) is more what a tyre is like.

Even if you did have the skills and dedication to make enough money at 16 to go racing on a shoestring do you really think your chances would be good against people who have nothing else to worry about than their next training or their next test day? Surely to make that kind of money you'd be working till late Friday night while the others are testing since Wednesday or Thursday?

So I don't see why V1 wouldn't make sense, even if you were right.

I just ripped a random CD twice with audiograbber and then md5ed the results. Turns out both rips were identical, something that never happened last time I did these kind of tests.

So maybe the problem isn't as big as I thought (maybe old drive was rubbish?) but there's still a fundamental problem when people come up with stuff like accuraterip just to make copies of digital data.

If I do a digital copy I want 1:1 garanteed or nothing, just like with CD-ROM or DVD Video. With Audio CD this isn't the case. Even EAC has to use a checksum database to make sure a rip really is the same as what other people have ripped.

Don't know if it's still true but last time I was looking for a ripper EAC was the only one that actually did some kind of digital error checking on the data it copies. All the others will but put clicking, damaged tracks on your HD without blinking, if the CD is dirty or scratched. That's why I always say audio CD's are only semi-digital as digitized data without error checking doesn't take advantage of one of the most fundamental features of digital data: 1:1 copies.

Bingo. It's a simple numbers game. Polygamy=higher number of frustrated males that are considered unworthy by the females that all want the same guy and become potential trouble makers. To take an extreme view I believe that modern day sexual openness (frequent change of partners) is one of the reasons for the rise of loonies shooting up schools.

Agree, after last year there is really nobody that would look good being compared to Hamilton (if you only compare debut seasons). And Hamilton has already done one thing that Schumacher refused to even attempt: beat a proven race winner in the same car.

I can't take any post serious with "the competitors are catching up" in it. Not that there aren't some promising projects out there but at the moment they are no more than just that: projects that may be good sims in the future.

The claims that LFS is being overtaken have been made for years and years and are just getting old. Do some research and you will see that in reality netKar was a scam, ISI still uses the same ten year old physics engine and drivers republic just died without a word.

I feel F1 fanboyism in general is getting out of hand. I'm a Hamilton fan but there is no way that the Alonso incident even looked anything close to brake testing. Just because Martin Brundle got it wrong doesn't mean everybody has to start jumping up and down, depending on which hater bandwagon they're on.

Anyway here's my list of fame for this race.

Great Success:
Fisichella: written off yet destroying Sutil and mixing with the works teams
Massa: nothing spectacular but didn't bow to overrated Raikkonen this time
Kubica: for being the currently closest Ferrari competitor

Epic Fail:
Hamilton: for forgetting to setup his electronics, hitting the back of Alonso and venting his frustration at Sato and Fisichella
Coulthard: for trying to convince himself that Button may have vanished into thin air
Sutil: for completely ruining the reputation he built up last year

2.0L & 1.6L will not race together. in some shorter track(e.g. Beijing), the best lap or qualfily lap time 1.6L car can faster than 2.0L. & the Polo's best lap is faster than the Carrera cup Asia's Group B driver in Beijing.

Another "Super Touring" CCC race car-- Nissan TIIDA Tuned by Nismo will show in this year, someone said it will be a FF version of Super GT car.

Thx for info. So is this the premiere racing series in China? Does it attract spectators? Are the drivers professionals or club racers?

hi! I'm a new driver and this is the first post i write!
I think that this is the definitive simulator ever and has the opportunity to cover all the racing disciplines! I personally am a rally fun and i hope that interesting stages will be developed as soon as possible because, perhaps, this sim could become also the main rally sim on the entire actual theater ( mitic RBR included !! )

What's this thread about?

An upcoming racing series in China? Then how about some info? Is it like a Chinese version of the Polo Cup i.e. nothing can be changed except tyre pressure? Or is it more a Chinese touring car championship where different manufacturers produce cars according to a certain ruleset?

But why do the Nazi claims bear any importance to you? If legality is the measure by which you judge his acts then I don't think Nazi role playing is illegal in England.

And if legality isn't the measure, then you are applying you own personal measures, which you have every right to do, just like everyone has the right to not want to have a sado freak as the sport's leader.

While I think it's pretty frightening that a newspaper can legally(?) set up a trap like that and put the clips out in the wild, I don't think there is any way Mosley can keep his position. Even without the nazi aspect, I wouldn't want Motorracing to be headed by a man who will go down in history for getting royally spanked and whipped on youtube. Most people find that kind of kink repulsive and will not be able to take him or the sport seriously in future.

If the Nazi aspect is true (I didn't watch the video) then there's nothing to discuss anyway.
